Things to keep in mind
A bar (business not selling more than 40% food) is required to post a Conduct Surety Bond by TABC. The amount of the bond depends on the proximity of the location to the nearest school. This bond expires every year for the life of the permit. This will be an item in your invoice/estimate.
A BG is required to post a Performance bond as well if located in Bexar, Harris, Dallas or Tarrant counties. This bond expires every year for the life of the permit.
At TXLLA we will keep you up to date with all of your renewal dates so you don't have to worry about it.
You require three permits to sell alcohol
1. State (TABC)
2. County
3. City (If inside the city limits)
The City of Houston is one of the only cities in the state that charges for their city permit every year. State and County permits are due every two years. If your location is outside the city limits, you don't have to worry about city permits.
Contact us by phone, email, or text with your business address or the city you will potentially establish your business and we'll provide a free consultation and go over any questions you might have.
