Types of Permits

---

-Food Establishments with a full kitchen selling more than 51% food

-Most often have a  Full Liquor License & a Food and Beverage Certificate (MB/FB) or

-Beer and Wine permit & a Food and Beverage Certificate (BG/FB)

-Late Hours Certificate can be added which allows the sell of alcohol until 2 am 

1. Mixed Beverage Permit 

-Late Hours Certificate can be added which allows the sell of alcohol until 2 am

-Establishments considered bars will be required to post a Conduct Surety Bond by TABC before issuance of the permit and two Mixed Beverage Bonds by the State Comptroller after issuance of the permit.

-Mixed Beverage Bonds expire every December 31st 

2. Beer and Wine (No distilled spirits like Tequila, Vodka or any hard liquor) 

-Late Hours Certificate can be added which allows the sell of alcohol until 2 am

-Establishments considered bars will be required to post a Conduct Surety Bond by TABC before issuance of the permit and in some parts of the state a Performance Surety Bonds. These two bonds expire every year and are needed for the life of the permit. 

-Most often have a Wine and Malt Beverage Retailer’s Off-Premise Permit (BQ)

-These establishments choose to add Tobacco, Food Stamps and Lottery Permits (Items offered by TLLA)

-Most often have a Package Store Permit (P)

-These establishments choose to add Tobacco, and Lottery Permits (Items offered by TLLA)

-Package Store permits can add a Local Distributors Permit (LP)

-Are required to provide a diagram of the premises

-Most often have a  Full Liquor License (MB) or-Beer and Wine permit (BG)

-Can be considered a restaurant if there is a full kitchen and more than 75% of sales are obtained by the sale of food. If this is the case a Food and Beverage Certificate can be added

-If no Food and Beverage Certificate is obtained, applicant must place a Conduct Bond.
